Fringe Arts Bath (FAB)
23 May - 08 June 2008
Bath City Centre

Fringe Arts Bath is a not-for-profit, artist-led initiative, which aims to make contemporary art visible and accessible to everyone in Bath. FAB is the cheeky little sister of the Bath Fringe. The festival theme is 'Location' and will breathe new life into our beautiful heritage city by showcasing the talented up-and-coming artists and curators of today.

Why is it important? Bath's reputation for its heritage past is something that we can all be incredibly proud of, but at FAB we also passionately believe in nurturing a reputation for culture and the arts for the future.

This year FAB is very excited to present over 100 up-and-coming artists and curators. Our headline group show this year is Locus; a theme which has inspired our entire festival. There are 8 exhibitions and many more art events and happenings planned. Why not celebrate with us on our opening night, Friday 23rd May, from 6pm, at the exhibition venues.

We have a great kid's program this year with three events; The Orange Juice Arts Trail, The Human Animal mask making workshop and The Great FAB Arts Debate. We will be running FAB guided tours on Saturday 7th June, with a special guest tour guide, for the grown-ups.

The FAB Art Fair
Sunday 1st June, 1pm-7pm, Saw Close, Bath.
The FAB Art Fair gives you the rare opportunity to buy work direct from the best of local up-and-coming contemporary artists. With over 40 artists represented, this is an unmissable event. There will be sculptors, jewelers, print-makers, painters, designer-makers, ceramicists and photographers. If that wasn't enough, this year FAB is teaming-up with Bath Fringe's Bedlam street fair. There will be a relaxed Sunday vibe, with a bar provided by Gascoyne Place, a music stage, street performers, buskers and a visit from the South Central Portaspace portable gallery. The roads will be closed throughout the event, so it's great for the kids too! So, come along, meet the artists and pick up a masterpiece!
