The Blackwater Manor Murders
14 June 2008
Location: The Old Mill Hotel

A murder mystery that is set in the village of Blackwater where a prominent actress Ms. Rosemary Beckett has died. Join us on the evening to decide how her fortune should be best spent, however for some, deciding how to spend the money feels like murder. The event starts at 19.00 with a Buck's Fizz reception, followed by a three course meal accompanied by a live jazz singer.

Friday 6 June: Pax by Deborah Levy Ladybrain Productions An empty house is presided over by a keeper who has surrounded herself with objects from this century and the last. What are the secrets that the estranged relatives reveal? Is our culture preparing for war? & Mauve Desert by Nicole Brossard Off The Road Theatre Company In this adaptation of Nicole Brossard's book, Melanie's story, in which she explores the possibilities of her sexuality, is told through physical theatre. Language, authorship and representation feature as main concepts.
Saturday 7 June: Ashes to Ashes by Harold Pinter Ladybrain Productions One of Harold Pinter's most recent plays, which deals with issues of violence, power, memory and love. It is an unusual, exciting, intense drama that is rarely performed. & The Musical Chair Bath University Student Theatre Funny how people cannot see what is right in front of their eyes! This devised piece by BUST looks at how different people deal with the loss of things precious to them. Will some search endlessly?
Bath International Music Festival 2008

Inaugurated in 1948, the Festival has an illustrious artistic history and has long been a well-established event of national significance and international reputation. It takes place annually over 17 days in late May/early June, presenting a range of high quality events including orchestral, chamber and contemporary classical music, contemporary jazz and world music and now exciting new electronic. Ladies night is the pinnacle of Bath’s annual calendar and is a fantastic evening out – Gentlemen welcome too of course! Gates open at 4:40pm, first race 6:40pm and the last race is at 9:10pm with Abba Rival performing for an hour after the last race.
