Jane Austen Festival Bath 17 - 25 September 2010 Various Venues In Bath This years Jane Austen Festival takes place over nine days at different venues around Bath. There will be a host of events taking place every day to commemorate Jane Austen, Bath's most famous resident. Including Europe's largest Regency Promenade - people will be parading the grand Georgian terraces of Bath in Regency costume accompanied by music and dancing and The Jane Austen Festival Regency Ball. - latest festival news  Saturday 18th September - Grand Regency Promenade. Sunday 19th September - Dance workshops for all abilities, learn the rudimentary elements of Regency style dancing. Friday 24th September - Country Dance, an informal country dance at St Swithin's Church and a delicious hot supper. The Jane Austen Centre in Bath offers a snapshot of life during the Regency period and explores how living in this magnificent city affected Jane Austen’s life and her writing.
