The Better Bath Forum

Next Meeting:
1 December 2010 18.00 for 18.30
St Michael's church, Broad Street, Bath BA1 5LJ
Spending cuts in Bath - what can we do?
This meeting will look at spending cuts in Bath, and how the community can respond to them.

Previous Meeting: October 2010
Character and Culture of Bath – who’s the City for?
There is one change to the introductory speakers who will set the scene. Xa Sturgis, Director of the Holburne Museum is expected to outline who the arts offering in Bath is catering for. Robin Kerr, Secretary of the Federation of Bath Residents’ Associations, will ask whether the city is focused enough on the needs of local people. Edward Mason, Rector of Bath Abbey, is considering the extent to which the city meets the needs of the less privileged. The meeting will be chaired by Trevor Osborne, Chairman of the Trevor Osborne Property Group.

As usual, most of the time will be devoted to points raised from the floor. Please let us know if there are any issues you’d like to raise, so that we can make sure the agenda covers them.

St Michael’s have asked us to let you know that the loop hearing system is out of order at the moment. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but are assured that it will not affect the normal microphone/loudspeaker system.

The meeting is at St Michael’s church, Broad Street, Bath BA1 5LJ. Doors will open at 18.00, when tea and coffee will be on sale. The meeting will start at 18.30, and should conclude by around 20.15. Participants are then welcome to continue the discussion informally and wine and soft drinks will be on sale.

Please note for your diary that the last meeting of 2010 will take place on Wednesday, 1 December (same time and place) and will discuss the citizens’ response to public spending cuts.
